Marriott Courtyard Detroit – Two Thumbs Up!

In my business, I am a road warrior and when I find a great hotel, I feel the need to share it with the world and recognize the property for WOWing me! The Marriott Courtyard Detroit is awesome!
When I first arrived, the guest service representative let me know I didn’t have a reservation, which was confusing since I had asked American Express to make it for me. As I quickly pulled up my confirmation, I realized that the travel service had accidentally made the reservation at the neighboring Marriot – not Marriott Courtyard. She quickly called the hotel next door and cancelled the wrong reservation and made me a new one. So easy! I really appreciated her proacitveness and efficiency.
I checked into my room and headed down to The Bistro – a quick cafe serving dinner. To be honest, my expectations were low. I didn’t expect a great dinner from a limited service hotel cafe. Man, was I wrong! First, I love that the menu has calorie counts on it. Because I am watching my weight, I had my selection narrowed down to the Grilled Buffalo Sandwich or the Spicy Chicken and Spinach Flatbread. My waitress, Lana, who was very personable, recommended the flatbread. As I waited, Lana made small talk with me and was kind and funny.

When my flatbread was ready, Lana brought it out from behind the counter and delivered it to me. It was the small touches, the friendly demeanor and the warm atmosphere that blended together to create a great experience. When I got to my room, I was ready to dig in. After flying through two airports, I was quite hungry. The flatbread was delicious! YUM! And it was a generous portion AND under 500 calories! After my great experience here tonight, I am a converted fan. Thank you Marriott Courtyard Detroit!
